The warehouse is an essential component and regulates the movement of goods in a company from goods receipt to goods issue.
Each item or physical product is created in articles. The item or item card is assigned the type "Stock". Items that are not kept in stock can be entered as catalog items and converted into stock items if required.
If the item quantity in the warehouse is increased or reduced, a posting is made directly to the item items.
Items that leave or are added to the warehouse are also recorded accordingly when purchase and sales documents are posted. Stock transfers between storage locations result in changes to the client's stock quantities.
Item movements are generally referred to as stock activity.
Categorizing the articles gives you a better overview and makes searching easier. You can also assign attributes to the articles according to which they can be searched and sorted.
Warehouse transactions:
If the stock level changes, e.g. due to the posting of sales deliveries, the item costs are recorded in the item value entries. An automatic posting is made to the corresponding warehouse accounts in financial accounting. The corresponding values are posted to the warehouse account, the correction account and the warehouse consumption account.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that a cost adjustment must be ensured. This means that costs for goods are passed on to the associated outgoing transaction, e.g. when goods are sold and before invoicing.
