Today we would like to inform you that Microsoft has published an announcement for the new calculation of the Microsoft Enhancement Plan. These changes, which were already communicated in April this year and will take effect from October 2024, are part of Microsoft's increased focus on cloud services and the gradual reduction of on-premises solutions.
The Enhancement Plan (EP) for on premise licenses will be increased by 1% from 18% to 19% from October 2024. As a result, maintenance fees based on the underlying license value will be calculated at 19 % from this date. This change applies to Enhancement Plan renewals or new sales of on-premise licenses from 01.10.2024.
Important to know: Customers who renew their Enhancement Plan before 01.10.2024 and opt for the 3-year plan can secure the even cheaper 18% for the next three years.
By taking out the Microsoft Enhancement Plan, Microsoft assures you as a customer of regular updates to your Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central solution. Your ERP solution therefore always remains up to date and your investments are secured.

Microsoft is planning the following adjustments to the prices for on-premises licenses:
Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises: A possible price increase of up to 7% on purchase
Dynamics NAV licenses: Purchase licenses could become up to 19% more expensive
Subscriptions for Dynamics NAV and Business Central On-Premises: A price increase of up to 12% could occur here
Reduction of the existing customer discount: The discount for subscription licenses that run "on Azure" is reduced from 10% to 5%
These price changes are provisional and will be confirmed with the final publication of the new conditions.
Finally, we would like to remind you that from April 1, 2025, new customers will no longer be able to purchase on-premises licenses. From this date, new customers will only be able to choose between two subscription options: On-Premises Subscription or Online Licensing with Dual Use Rights.
In view of the upcoming changes, we recommend that all prospective and new customers invest directly in the cloud version of Dynamics 365 Business Central. For existing customers who are currently still using on-premises licenses, we recommend considering a cloud migration in the long term. You can also take advantage of Microsoft's "Bridge to the Cloud 2" promotion to test the Business Central Cloud at low cost.
