Important information for all Existing NAV customerswho are using a NAV version NAV 2009 or older: A Migration to NAV 2018 is only available on the license side possible until 31.03.2019. License extensions of your existing (older) NAV version, for example the addition of new user licenses or objects, are still possible. also after 01.04.2019 - possible under the condition of an existing active enhancement plan.
If you are considering an upgrade after 31.03.19 and are using a version of NAV 2009 or older, migration is only possible to the completely new version Dynamics 365 Business Central, which is primarily characterized by a different technology. The familiar Dynamics NAV interface will not change significantly for the user, although a different arrangement of elements has been chosen in the web client.
Also important to know in this context: All Dynamics NAV licenses purchased before 01.10.2018 will be converted at a ratio of 1:2 until further notice when upgrading to Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premise, i.e. you will receive twice the number of users in Business Central. However, these are no longer concurrent, but named users. This means that one named user must be licensed per user.
We will be happy to advise you whether an upgrade to NAV 2018 makes sense for you at this point in time and should therefore be considered by the end of March at the latest!
New customers can also only purchase the current NAV 2018 version until March 31. After this date, this version will no longer be available for new purchases.
