ZUGFeRD (Zentral User Guide of the Forums electronic Rcalculation Deutschland) - a format for electronic invoice exchange
The format ZUGFeRD was initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. It is already being used in many companies and administrations throughout Germany and could soon become the standard. The aim is to establish a universally valid format for the exchange of invoices between small and medium-sized enterprises as well as between public authorities and consumers.

- Hybrid structure of invoice image in PDF/A-3 standard with embedded XML invoice data enables both: manual invoice entry or direct further processing in the system
