The cloud is becoming socially acceptable: After a BitKom study one in four companies already uses cloud applications. A distinction must be made between the private cloud and the public cloud. While the private cloud is operated by companies or external service providers themselves, the IT services in the public cloud are obtained from external service providers via the public network and operated on the same physical computers. The separation of applications and the security of the company's own data is always guaranteed.
Microsoft introduces AZURE provides a public cloud for the operation of Microsoft products (Office 365, CRM online Dynamics NAV and AX), but also allows the operation of third-party products on the platform. However, a private cloud installation "on AZURE" with its own NAV service tier is also possible. Security is the top priority. Microsoft was the first provider of cloud services to adopt the world's first international standard for data protection in the cloud for AZURE (see also the March newsletter report). You can find an overview of the other security-relevant aspects here here.
How we support you on your way to the cloud
When setting up your application on AZURE, we are supported in many ways by Microsoft itself and by specialized distributors. Microsoft is currently offering direct assistance with all deployment issues when setting up new customers on AZURE with the Sure Step program in close cooperation with us. Take advantage of this time-limited opportunity and contact us!
When operating Dynamics NAV in the cloud or on AZURE, the NAV licenses can also be rented (so-called subscription). This avoids the need to invest in your own licenses and spreads the investment over many years. Rental licenses also have the advantage that the latest NAV version is always available. However, these automatic updates require the application to be close to the standard. The model is therefore particularly suitable for companies that get along well with the diverse possibilities of the NAV standard.
Billing for cloud services "on AZURE" is based on the consumption principle and offers the customer maximum flexibility. The calculation and billing model is admittedly complex, but is tailored to your requirements: Your individual price is calculated according to your requirements for virtual machines, SQL servers, storage space and usage time (on an hourly basis). The services purchased can be adjusted at any time, which offers enormous savings potential, especially in the event of seasonal or time-related fluctuations in system utilization.
We at BR-AG support you with all conceivable forms of NAV operation on AZURE and sizing:
- Licensing form "OPEN": The Microsoft volume licensing program in which the AZURE credit is obtained via BR-AG (operation of purchase and rental licenses)
- Advisor" licensing form: Here, Microsoft invoices the AZURE usage directly to the partners, whereby the AZURE credit must be paid in advance (currently only by credit card) (operation of purchase licenses only)
- Bundle offers in conjunction with Office 365
